Don C. Stanhope, 84, of Decatur, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born on Nov. 19, 1929, in Winter, Wisconsin. He was the son of Dale and Columbia Stanhope. Don grew up in northern Wisconsin and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a devoted fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, the Green Bay Packers, and the Atlanta Braves.
Don is survived by seven children, Gregory (Kelly) Stanhope, of Florence, Alabama, Matthew (Maureen) Stanhope, of Acworth, Georgia, David (Chris) Stanhope, of Decatur, Georgia, Timothy Stanhope, of Vestavia, Alabama, Chris Stanhope, of Madison, Wisconsin, Dona (Philip) Hohensee, of Madison, Wisconsin, and Don (Angela) Stanhope, of John’s Creek, Georgia; 16 grandchildren; one brother, Norman Stanhope, of Pasadena, California;one sister, Inez Toepfer, of Stoughton, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dale Stanhope.
