Velma Mae Ferrell, age 96, of Sheffield, died Monday, June 16, 2014.
Her family will receive friends, today, 11-1 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, Sheffield. Her funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary with Joel Henley and Tandy Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Mrs. Ferrell was a Colbert County native and a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Sheffield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ferrell, daughter, Sandra Gail Ferrell, mother Bevie Basden Hamby, father, Tandy K. Hamby and brother, John K. Hamby.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Willingham (Harold); grandsons, Brent Willingham (Joni), Todd Willingham, all of Muscle Shoals, and Alan Willingham (Wendy) of Tuscumbia; seven great-grandchildren, sisters Irene Pullen, Nell Vaughn and Emma Holland.
Pallbearers are Brent Willingham, Todd Willingham, Alan Willingham, Rick VanDam, Kyra Jackson and Gary Cox.
The family expresses special thanks to Dr. Kenneth Rose and Keller Hospice for their tender care of our mother.
