Rudolph (Rudy) Hamlett Godwin, 72, of Pensacola, Fla., died Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at his residence. Visitation will be today from 1 -2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home, Athens. Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel, with Pat Driskel officiating. Burial will be in Ingram Cemetery in Rogersville.
Mr. Godwin was born February 19, 1942 in Nashville, Tenn. He was a member of the Methodist Church, retired as a Mechanical Engineer from Solutia, and was currently employed by Day Zimmerman as a project manager. He was a US Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Maxine Godwin; and his daughter, Ginger McKay.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Greer Godwin, Pensacola, Fla.; Mother-in-Law, Mary Lois Greer, Rogersville, Ala.; Son: Greer Godwin, Pensacola, Fla.; Son-in-Law, Will McKay, Nashville, Tenn.; Step-Mother, Joyce Godwin, Lynnville, Tenn.; and Granddaughter, Rachel McKay.
