Jerry Wade Bryant, 66 of Toney, Alabama died on Monday, May 26, 2014, at Athens-Limestone Hospital in Athens, Alabama.
Born Saturday, September 13, 1947 in Taft, Tennessee, to the late Herbert Bryant and the late Irene Thompson Bryant. He lived in the Ardmore area most of his life, and was a member of the Heards Chapel Baptist Church, He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with the kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, He was a Veteran of Vietnam in United States Navy and was a meatcutter most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Shirley Bryant of Toney, AL, daughters, Christy Heard of Toney, AL and Donna (Kevin) Duncan of Toney, AL, 2 granddaughters Katie (Edward) Cobb and Michaela Duncan, both of Ardmore, AL, sister, Judy (Danny) Clark of Athens, AL, great-granddaughter: Sophia Cobb of Ardmore, AL, and sister-in-law: Janell Bryant, of Ardmore,AL, and a host of neices and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, with Bro. Lynn Marshall and Bro. Gary Heard officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Billy Bagsby, David Bagsby, Roger Bagsby, Stanley Bagsby, Jeff Keller and Kenny Quillin.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ken Steelman, David Browning, Craig Quillen, Terry Thomas, Jody Hall, Jason Hall, Bradley Bryant and Greg Hice.
