Funeral services for Mr. James “Matthew” Garner, age 86, are scheduled for 11 AM, Thursday, May 29, 2014 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with Bro. Stephen Warbritton officiating. Interment will follow in Old Jacks Creek Cemetery. Mr. Garner passed away Monday in Jackson. He was born October 16, 1927 in Henderson County to the late James Roy and Johnnie Douglass Garner. He was retired from MagneTek. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Houston and Murrel Garner; one sister, Lillian Garner; and two great grandsons, Dalton Wallace and Jacob Koons. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mrs. Marie Garner of Huron; three sons, Allen Garner of Sardis, Danny (Ann) Garner of Huron, and Ricky Garner of Sardis; three daughters, Carolyn (Dennis) Bain of Adamsville, Judy (Charles) Johnson of Huron, and Betty (Preston) Miller of Sahuarita, AZ; one brother, Emmett (Helen) Garner of Savannah; two sisters, Oneda Garner of Lexington and Graple (Marion) Miles of Lincoln, Nebraska; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; and sixteen great great grandchildren.
