Robert E. “Bob” Davis – Obituary

bobCWO (Ret.) Robert E. “Bob” Davis, 97, passed away Friday. He was born in Chesterfield, South Carolina and served 30 years in the United States Military from 1935-1965. During his service, he helped with the start up of Ellington AFB. He retired to Huntsville in 1965 to work with RCA where he was presented the Apollo Achievement Award by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. He then worked numerous years in real estate until retiring on a permanent basis to enjoy the remaining years with his loving wife of 70 years, Adeline Davis, who passed December 3, 2010. 

Survivors include sons, Thomas Davis and wife, Mary Lee, and Michael Davis and wife, Pam; daughter, Sharon Davis Brown and husband, Buddy; grandsons, Tad Davis and wife, Ruthie, Tyler Davis and Andrew Brown and wife, Danae; granddaughters, Becky Davis Padilla and husband, Michael, Kelly Davis Perricone and husband, Adam, Hannah Davis and Katie Brown Wilken and husband, Scott; great-grandsons, Ryan Davis, Thomas Padilla, Aidyn Brown, Tucker Wilken and Brantley Wilken; and great-granddaughter, Audrey Padilla. 

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with the funeral service immediately following in the chapel. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
