Master Sargent John Collum, 56, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, in Itawamba County. He was born June 16, 1957 to Dr. Billy T. Collum and Barbara Starcevich Collum in Tupelo. He was a member of Fulton Church of Christ. Master Sargent John Collum was a 15 year veteran of the Mississippi Department Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks and was named the 2012 Southeast Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies officer of the year, placing him at the top of a 17 state area. He was also awarded the Mississippi Wildlife Federation for his outstanding commitment to the conservation of Mississippi Natural Resources. He was a lifetime member & Secretary of the Iron Warriors Tupelo Chapter Motorcycle Club. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with his family and friends, especially his four grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Collum of Fulton, 2 Sons, Seth (Tiffany) Collum and Shae (Elizabeth) Collum both of Fulton, 4 Grandchildren, Avery Collum, Dixie Belle Collum, Gunner Collum, Baylor Collum, his parents, Dr. Billy T. (Barbara) Collum of Fulton, 5 Sisters, Billy Jean (John) Stroud of New Albany, MS, Cynthia Finney of Madison, AL, Charlotte Collum of Nashville, TN, Deborah Collum of Rossville, TN, Barbara Jo Collum of Nashville, TN, 2 Brothers, Mark (Stephanie) Collum of Tupelo, James (Melinda) Collum of Madison, AL.
He was preceded in death by 2 Brothers, Lesley Wayne Collum, and Phillip Charles Collum.
