Michael Ralph Lee, age 66, of Florence, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014.

Michael grew up in Ashland, Alabama and was a member of the 1965 graduating class of Clay County High School. He married Joan Gaither in 1967. They moved with their three daughters to Florence, Al in 1979.

Michael was a founding member and elder of Christ Chapel Church, Florence, Al.

Michael served in the United States Army 8th Artillery, 25th Infantry Division from 1966 to 1968. He was awarded the Purple heart for wounds received in action in the Republic of Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, daughters Larissa Lee(Joe), Erica Evert(Scott), and Jessica Fulks(Jason); grandchildren, Mackenzie and Cole Evert, Olivia and Madeline Anderson, and Samantha and Kendyl Fulks. Inherited grandchildren Aimee Russell(Alex), Zoie Russell and Grady LeCroy.

Special thanks to Dr. Felix Morris for caring for Michael. We are truly blessed to have known him for the past seven months. Also, thanks to the staff of the ECM CCU for the care they provided to Michael. Dr. Morris and the medical staff treated us and Michael like family.

A memorial service will be held at 7 pm, Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in the sanctuary of Christ Chapel Church. Visitation prior to the service from 5-7pm.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Loaves and Fishes, a ministry dedicated to providing food to families in need. Michael gave many years of his life in service to this organization. Donations may be made through Christ Chapel, 3051 Cloverdale Road, Florence, Al. 35630.
