Graveside Service for J. R. Johnson age 68 of Decatur will be Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Falkville City Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Stanford officiating with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 9:00pm Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson, who was born July 26, 1945 in Cullman, Alabama to Claude Clarence Johnson and Emma Catherine Rodgers Johnson, died on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at his home. J.R. loved life and really enjoyed having fun, he never met a stranger and always love to joke. He was an avid Auburn fan and was a wonderful supporter of his grandson who plays for the Falkville Blue Devils. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Ina Jo Beck.
He is survived by 2 sons; J. Rodney Johnson of Falkville and Stephen D. Johnson of Hartselle, 2 brothers; Dennis Johnson of Eva and Hal Johnson of Cullman, 2 sisters; Shirley Frost of Decatur and Beverly Durand of Massey, 1 Grandson; J Lucas Johnson of Falkville.
Russell Durand, Eric Johnson, David Taylor, Scott Scales, Mike Lovelace, Alan Crisler and Phillip Gurley will serve as pallbearers.
