Memorial services for Joseph Francis Moore, 87, of Vinemont, will be 11:00 am Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Byron Vance officiating.

Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Moore passed away Thursday, May 1st at his residence. He was born May 24, 1926 to parents Roy and Virginia Moore. Mr. Moore served 4 years in the Navy and 2 years in the Navy Reserves. He joined the Air Force as a member of the 366th Bomb Squadron 305 Bomb Wing at McDill Air Force Base. Mr. Moore earned the World War II Victory Medal in the Navy, Aircrew Member Wings, and retired after 22 years of service as Master Sergeant in the Air Force. Following his military service, Mr. Moore worked and retired as a teacher from the Dade County, Florida, School System. He received his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying his own Cessna 150 plane.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Diana Moore; a son, Michael Moore; two daughters, Cheryl Elledge, Judy Little; a brother, Robert Moore; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
