Mr. Hugh “Gordon” Byrd, age 73, of Tuscumbia, passed away Friday, May 02, 2014. His family will receive friends for visitation Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Colbert Memorial Chapel from 12-2pm. Rev. Nick McSpadden and Rev. George Sansbury will officiate the service in the funeral home chapel beginning at 2pm. Burial will follow in Barton Cemetery.
Mr. Byrd is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Edna Byrd.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Linda Byrd; son, Erik Byrd; daughter, Heather Herbst (Gregory); stepsons, Keith (Kim) and Kevin (Teresa) Bonds; brother, Mike Byrd; step-grandchildren, Morgan, Levi, and Lane Bonds, Meagan Cornelius, and Taylor Malone; step-great-grandchildren, Carolyne and Sawyer; Pallbearers will be Keith Bonds, Kevin Bonds, Levi Bonds, Drew Malone, Cyrus Cornelius, and Kenneth Andrews. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Fox, Gregory Herbst, Lawrence Kimbrough, Jr., DC Behel, and Billy Mitchell.
