Graveside service for Herbert Elvin Moore, 83, of Decatur will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. with Bro. Barry Sempsrott officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Moore died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at his residence. He was born January 17, 1931, in Lawrence County to Elvin Moore and Bertha Black Moore.
He is survived by his loving wife, Minnie Walter Moore; five children, Karen Ramsey (Les) of Ketchikan, Alaska, Jeanie Yim and Stefanie Moore, both of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Heidi Zurbrugg and Toby Moore, both of Klamath Falls, Ore.; two stepsons, Stan Smallwood (Rachel) of Athens and Rod Smallwood of Belmont, N.C.; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
