Shirley Ludlow from Decatur, went to heaven on April 19, 2014. She was the daughter of Arthur and Stella Martin and sister of Billy Martin. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Shirley was a popular radio announcer for many years and played piano, banjo, guitar and other musical instruments. She was an avid reader and published writer. Her true passion was her love for animals.
Shirley is survived by three children, Rose Vig, Bryan Persell and Sonja Furse; 12 grandchildren, Leah, Patricia, Jeremy, Patty, Olympia, Lucas, Uran, Cameron, Daisuke, Yale, Liza and Toma. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Lupin.
A viewing will be held today, April 22, 2014, at 2 p.m. and services at 4 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home and Cemetery in Decatur.
