georgiaGeorgia Virginia Story Perry, age 90, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Tuesday, April 08, 2014 in Florence, AL. She resided at NHC Brink Street in Lawrenceburg, TN and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.

Georgia was born in Bethleham Community in Wayne County, TN, on December 18, 1923 to the late David Clark and Ella Selina Caperton Story.

Georgia married the late Glynn Paul Perry on December 18, 1938 in Greenhill, AL. They eloped on her fifteenth birthday, with the assistance of Glynn’s brother Woodrow, and a friend Paul McLain (who had a vehicle). They were wed in a small Baptist church. The preacher asked his congregation to remain after the sermon for the wedding; and they did.

They moved to Bradley, Kankakee, IL in the early 1950’s, where they raised seven children. They enjoyed being surrounded by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. It would be 1988 before retiring to Lawrenceburg where Georgia spent a lot of her time making beautiful quilts for each family member. She was also quite pleased to spend time with siblings living nearby. Georgie is known by everyone as a very sweet, kind and gentle person.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Earnest E. Story, Rev. Paul C. Story, and Glynn David Story; three sisters, Bessie Keeton, Maudie Andrews, and Lula Keeton; and two son-in-laws, Jesse Nash and Burt “Mutt” Harlan.
