Ira Daner Swindle, Jr., 88 of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014, at Floyd E. “Tut” Fann State Veterans Home in Huntsville, Alabama.
Born Saturday, March 20, 1926 in Lafayette, Indiana, he was the son of the late Ira Daner Swindle, Sr. and the late Bonnie Huffines Swindle. He was a Veteran of World War II, he retired from Wyle Labatories, he also was a bus driver. He was a member of Ardmore First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie Baker Swindle, of Huntsville,AL, daughters, Cynthia Buchanan of Springhill, TN and Jill Lohrman of Ardmore, TN, brothers, Roger Swindle of Lafayette, IN, Frank Swindle of Lafayette, IN, Donald Swindle of Lafayette, IN and Teddy Swindle of Lafayette, IN, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was precededed in death by his parents, a son, Ira David Swindle, and a sister, Laura Jane Davis.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 31, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Derrick Moose officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, 27186 Main Street, Ardmore, Alabama.
