Jack William Rost – Obituary

Funeral service for Jack William Rost, 91 of Decatur, will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens with Charles Littrell officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Rost passed away, March 18, 2014 peacefully at home with family by his side. He was born in 1922 in Chicago, IL to Lillian Mosedale Phillips and Otto William Rost. He was employed by The Belt Railroad for over 50 years, served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the Danville Road Church of Christ in Decatur.

Mr. Rost was preceded in death by a son, William Phillip “Phil” Rost, and his loving wife of 67 years, Jewell Frances Black Rost.

Survivors include his daughter, Delores Baker and husband, Robert of Decatur; Three grand-daughters, Lisa Mount and husband, Don, Amber Mack and husband, Codey. Bonnie Jensen and husband, Dan; four great-grandchildren, Alex Mount, Jackson and Kinley Mack and Colt Jensen; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave. 7th Floor New York, NY 10001.
