Norma Lee Creel, 81, of Florence, died March 11, 2014, at Florence Nursing and Rehab. Visitation will begin at 11 am Saturday at Greenview Funeral Home with the service to follow at 12 noon in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Tri Cities Memorial Gardens. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Miss Creel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Athens, AL. She was a retired educator having taught at Athens High School and Vestavia Hills High School. In Athens she was a supporter of the Humane Society and was also an avid Alabama football fan. She requested that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Children’s Hospital in Birmingham or the Athens’ Humane Society.
Survivors are her brother, Connie Creel, Florence; nieces and nephews, Charles W. Prince, Birmingham, Thomas Gene Prince, Atlanta, Barbara Prince Fleace, IN, Joseph C. Prince, Madison, AL, Sharon Creel Hammond, Florence, Russell Wayne Creel, Muscle Shoals and Angela Creel White, Florence; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
