Daniel Crowell Browning – Obituary

Daniel Crowell Browning, 80, of Madison, passed away Monday. Mr. Browning, a native of South Carolina, graduated from Georgia Tech in 1955 and served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force before a lengthy career in the aerospace industry with Lockheed, Chrysler, and Martin Marietta. A life-long Baptist, he was a long-time member of Highlands Baptist Church in Huntsville, and most recently of Trinity Baptist in Madison. He was an avid hobbyist, enjoying radio-controlled model aircraft, tropical fish, and computers.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Irene Chiles Browning; son Daniel C Browning, Jr (Felicia) of Hattiesburg, MS; daughter Cynthia Browning Larsen (Bruce); grandchildren, Sarah B. Etheridge (Russell) and Rachel Browning of Hattiesburg, Elizabeth and Matthew Larsen of Madison; and great-granddaughter, Amelia Etheridge.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Michael B. Oliver officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Inc.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
