Mrs. Jo Ann Foster Lamar, 76, of Athens, died Wednesday at her residence. Mrs. Lamar was born Jan. 6, 1938, in Colbert County, Ala. to Carl and Josephine Thompson Foster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Lamar, in 1982. Visitation will be today, 6-9 p.m., at Spry Funeral Home, Athens, Ala. A private burial service will be held later.
Survivors include sons, Tommy Lamar, of Athens, Ala., Eddie Lamar, of Rogersville, Ala., David Lamar, of Elgin, Ala., and Guy Lamar, of Athens, Ala.; daughters, Deborah Tate, of Chatsworth, Ga., and Cindy Spry, of Athens, Ala.; sisters, Sylvia Jean Mitchell, of Tuscumbia, Ala., and Martha Chambers, of Uniontown, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
