theoTheo Mack Barnett, 82, of Double Springs passed away on January 31, 2014.

He was born on August 15, 1931 in Double Springs. Mr. Barnett was a member of Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church for over 40 years where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He served his Country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed spending his free time hunting, fishing and trapping with his son-in-laws and grandsons.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2014, from 2:00 – 3:30pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be held at 3:30pm. Brother Mickey Millican and Brother Bill Frank Wilson will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Barnett Tyra and her husband Scott, and Lisa Barnett Claytor and her husband Bruce; son, Michael Barnett and his wife Melanie; seven grandchildren, Jarrod Claytor and his wife Libby, Will Claytor and his wife Ashley, Daniel Claytor and his wife Elizabeth, Elle Claytor, Katie Tyra Evans and her husband Max, Chris Tyra and Noah Barnett; and four great grandchildren, Logan Claytor, Maddie Beth Claytor, Aniston Claytor and Caden Evans.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqulyn Barnett; five brothers; and 3 sisters.
