Margaret Katherine Walker, age 86, of Mississippi, formerly of Huntsville, passed away on Thursday January 30, 2014.
Mrs. Walker was born January 2, 1928 in Blue Diamond, Kentucky to Bill and Blanche Shepherd. She married Julius C. Walker on December 23, 1949. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2000.
Katherine is survived by her sons, Jerry Howard of Maysville, KY, and Richard Walker and wife Eileen of Waveland, MS; her grandchildren, Bill Howard and wife Karen of Earlham, IA, Wade Howard and wife Jess of Des Moines, IA, and Faith Martin and husband Scott of Des Moines, IA; eight great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson; her brother Bill Shepherd and wife Dot of Ocala, FL; her very special cousin Geneva Davenport of Middleton, OH; and her special friends, Julie and Roy Limbaugh, and Liz Stanfield.
In addition to her husband, Katherine is also preceded in death by her parents and her brother Lawrence, who was MIA in WWII.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday February 5, 2014 at 11 am in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville with Bro. Ted Estridge officiating. Burial will follow in Huntsville Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10am until 11am at the funeral home.
