Virginia Warner – Obituary

Virginia Warner died Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. She was born September 18, 1924.

She is survived by her husband of over 68 years, William “Bill” Allen Warner. Ginny is also survived by her children, Judy Warner Cocherell of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Debbie Warner Donahue and Jerry Donahue of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, and Michael Warner and Mary Jane Warner of Decatur. Ginny was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and United Methodist Women’s Leader. Her five grandchildren are Emily Sineath Boyle, Elizabeth Sineath McEwan, Lindsay Donahue, Katie Warner Asquith and Matthew Warner. Her two great- grandchildren are Tanner and Tatum Boyle. Ginny recently relocated to Decatur from Portsmouth, Virginia, where she was a well-established real estate broker. Ginny was also a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, a past president of the United Methodist Women, past President of the Women’s Club of Portsmouth, and was a member of FUMC Hartselle. She will be greatly missed.

Services will be held at Peck Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 21, 2014. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and memorial service will commence at 3 p.m.
