Marvin Ross Balentine – Obituary

MarvinMarvin Ross Balentine, 88, of Florence, passed away Jan. 13, 2014, at ECM Hospital after an extended illness. He was a member of Woodlawn Church of Christ and retired from Reynolds Alloys Plant after 34 years of service.

Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, from 11-1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Perry Taylor and Matt Heupel officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenview Memorial Park Love Mausoleum.

Mr. Balentine was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Velvie Kelley Balentine; first wife, Mary Helen Balentine, married 46 years; grandson, Bradley C. Behel; and brother, Ed Balentine.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Balentine; daughter, Gayle Behel (Harold); granddaughter, Britten Howell; great-grandchildren, Linley, Hogan and Hagen Howell; special niece, Sue Young; stepdaughter, Bonnie Underwood (Perry); stepgrandchildren, Lindsey and Jacob Underwood; and brother, Glen Balentine (Dixie).

Active pallbearers will be Harold Behel, Chet Young, Phillip May, Perry Underwood, Steve Stutts, and Raymond Scott.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Balentine, Leon Davis, J.C. Frye, and Glen McInish.
