Beatrice Gladys Louise Austeill Pogue age 82 of Athens, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Pogue was born April 14, 1931 in Limestone County to Joe B. Austeill and Alice Elizabeth Ward Austeill.
Services for Mrs. Pogue are Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery with Dr. Rick Craft and Pastor Bruce Johnson officiating.
She was a member of First Church of Athens, AL.
She is survived by her son, Buddy Tate and wife Lesia; daughter, Gladys Eckstein; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, James R. “Bud” Austeill; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Alice Austeill; husband Lloyd Pogue; brother, Buck Austeill; sister, Ellar Hamby.
Pallbearers are Butch Stanley, Rodney Dugger, Earl Hamby, Ray Toone, Donald Sullivan and Michael Jones.
