Hazel “Pat” Frew, 90, of Gardendale, passed away Dec. 14, 2013.
She was born in Sheffield and a graduate of Leighton High School. She was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church for 55 years. She worked at Carraway Hospital and later retired from Jefferson County Nursing Home in Ketona as an LPN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy M. Frew; brothers, O. L. Streit, Albert Lee Streit and Maurice Streit; sister, Margaret J. Streit.
Survivors include her three daughters, Ann (Len) Gedgoudas, Linda (Jim) Hand and Debbie Bush; grandchildren, Chris, Beth, Mitch and Kelley and seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Leonard (Cecile) Streit and Carl (Linda) Streit and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. The New Gardendale Funeral Home directing.
