Arthur Wayne Hester, 75, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013. Visitation will be Sunday, 12-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Gatus Cheatam officiating. Burial will be at Barton Cemetery.
Wayne was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve and retired after 43 years of service as an Electrician at Occidental Chemical. He was a member of Barton First Baptist Church. Wayne was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Martha Killian and Miranda Jett.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joan Hester; sons, Tim Hester and Greg Hester, and wife Sonya; brothers, Denton, Lawrence, Glenn, Douglas, and Jack Hester; sisters, Earleen Zinaman, Rebecca Nail, Ruth Thompson, Ann Culberson, and Dottie Malone; and three grandchildren, Elijah Hester and wife Ashley, Anna Hester, and Plina Hester.
Pallbearers will be Elijah Hester, Byron Hester, Dana Hester, Devin Goins, Jack Crowell, and Mike Sennett.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Barton First Baptist Church Building Fund.
