Funeral service for Donald Wayne Reding, 80, of Hillsoro will be today, November 13, 2013, at noon at Courtland Baptist Church with Brother Scotty Letson officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Courtland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon at the church.
Mr. Reding, who died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at his home, was born November 26, 1932, in Lawrence County to Carl and Elaine Reding. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1954-1956, and was retired from Monsanto and Novacor. He was a member of Courtland Baptist Church. Mr. Reding loved his grandkids, great-grandkids, fishing, Alabama football and NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Roland Reding and Wendell Reding.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ann Reding; one son, Donald Wayne Reding Jr.; three daughters, Jennifer Kay Bastain (Bill Bastain), JoAnn Brackin (Dennis Brackin) and Charlotte Cochrane (Jim Cochrane); three brothers, Greg Reding, Kenny Reding and Ambry Reding; two sisters, Faye Eskridge and Gail Cartee; grandchildren, Ragan Chastain, Josh McCurry, Stacy Ruby, Adam Brackin, Stephanie Ray, Lyndsea Cherkasky, Misty Palma and Lori Boston; and great-grandchildren, Garrett McCurry, London McCurry, Brayden Palma, Luke Palma, Adley Brackin, Jasper Boston, Chase Ruby, Brianna Ruby and Kimberly Arvin.
Pallbearers will be Adam Brackin, Roy Boston, Matt Palma, Brad Reding, Roger Dale Cartee, Bobby Chittam and Dan Simmons.
Memorials may be made to Courtland Baptist Church or Amedisys Hospice.
