Graveside service and interment for Thomas L. Bonds, Sr. , 82, will be Friday, August 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Hartselle City Cemetery with Rev. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Friday, August 23, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.

Mr. Bonds passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Southern Magnolia Assisted Living. He was born in Iuka, Mississippi to Tom and Elizabeth Bonds.

He was a native of Iuka, MS where he attended Iuka High School and joined the service at the age of 17. He completed his education while in the military. Mr. Bonds was retired from the Air Force as Master Sergeant of the Security Police and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He served in the Korean War and did two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a graduate of the FBI academy in 1976. Mr. Bonds also retired as Lieutenant from TVA Public Safety and later worked as a volunteer for BBI. He was a past Member of the Board of Volunteers of America and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #94 in Iuka and was a Shriner. Before his illnesses, he was in business as a Private Investigator searching for missing persons. He attended First Christian Church in Hartselle, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his wife: Gertrude and a sister: Mildred Allred, as well as his parents: Tom and Elizabeth Bonds.

Survivors include: One Son: Thomas L. Bonds, Jr. , Decatur, AL

Two Brothers: Raymond Bonds, Iuka, MS and Bobby Bonds, Iuka, MS

Two Sisters: Catherine Daily, Iuka, MS and Sandra Bunch, Iuka, MS

A host of Nieces and Nephews.
