W.L. Eastep, 89, a lifelong resident of Rogersville died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013 at Glenwood Healthcare Facility. He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Eastep was a World War II veteran of the United States Army obtaining the rank of sergeant. He participated in campaigns in North Africa, Italy and Southern France.
He was a member of Rogersville Masonic Lodge #147, obtained the level of Scottish Rite Shriner, Huntsville Lodge, and a member of E.O.S. #207.
As a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 760, he worked throughout the TVA System and Browns Ferry from the project beginning until retiring in 1986.
Visitation will be Saturday from Noon – 2 p.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Funeral service will follow immediately with Pat Driskell officiating. Burial will be in Civitan Cemetery.
Mr. Eastep was preceded in death by his parents, Carse & Cleo Eastep; wife of 60 years, Alice Dofadene Eastep and brother, Bill (Jean) Eastep. He is survived by his daughter, Gayle (Ronnie) Littrell of Rogersville; grandchildren, Scott Littrell and Paula Peterson both of Huntsville; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Luke & John David Peterson and Grayson & Anna Littrell; special niece, Kay Hamm of Florence; sister-in-law, Celestine Dean of Florence and special friend, Ruby Griffin of Rogersville.
