Funeral service for Ray McLemore, 80, of Danville will be today July 27, 2013, at 2 p.m at Aldridge Grove Church of Christ with James Bryant and Kenneth Johnson officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Aldridge Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon til 2 p.m. at the church.
Mr. McLemore who died July, 25, 2013, at NHC Healthcare, was born April 21, 1933 in Lawrence County. He was a member of Aldridge Grove Church of Christ. He was retired. He loved gardening, fox hunting, training bird dogs, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, G.P. McLemore; mother, Bertie McLemore; his brothers, Charles McLemore and Chalmes McLemore; and sister, Grace Gillespie.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Borden McLemore; daughters, Joyce Owens (Vann), Margaret Alexander, Nancy Armstrong (Jerry) and Becky Holland; brother, Kenneth McLemore; sisters, Nelda Gillespie, Doris Kelsoe and Leneva Lackey; grandchildren, Brandon Owens, Candace Owens, Holli Newsom, Kelli Armstrong, Cassie Goodwin, Mollie Bradford, Faith Holland, and Ryan Holland; great-grandchildren, Samuel Goodwin, Joseph Goodwin and Weston Armstrong.
Pallbearers will be Danny Holland, Kevin Newsom, Jason Goodwin, Ryan Holland, Brandon Owens, and Bean Bradford.
