The children of Catherine Rogillio Naylor, lovingly known as Bay, will be celebrating her life with family and friends on Sunday, July 28th at First Presbyterian Church, Decatur. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. and the funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Bay’s five children are Cathy Naylor Story, Renee Naylor Rush, Jeanne Naylor Haugen, Lionel Z. Naylor III “Trey” and Nicole Naylor Klooster. Bay’s seven grandsons will be her pallbearers: Chase Story, Christopher Story, Caleb Story, Will Haugen, Thomas Naylor, Clay Klooster and Wyatt Klooster. Bay’s six granddaughters will also participate in this celebration: Victoria Haugen, Charis Haugen, Michaela Haugen, Madison Rush, Kate Naylor and Lovey Klooster. Bay’s son-in-law, Rev. Dr. W. George Haugen Jr. will be officiating along with Rev. Dr. V. Don Haas, her pastor. Bay had recently been working at the Committee on Church Cooperation (CCC) where she loved to serve and minister to others. From 1981-2000, Bay lived in Monroe, La., and worked as facility director at Evangeline Oaks Girls Home, a home for abused and delinquent girls. Bay lived in Decatur from 1968-1981. During this time, she was very active in the Junior League of Morgan County. She was active in bringing the student theater to town. For this reason, her children, ask that instead of flowers, one can give generously to the local arts in Morgan County through the Princess Theater. Bay was the daughter of James William Rogillio and Beatrice Russ Rogillio of Tallulah, La. Her two sisters are Lulabe Furr, deceased, and Mary Alice Wall. Bay was rich in friends and family, and she loved to love others.

I know the article said that she was called Bay, but I will always remember her as Baby Sister. That is how I was introduced to her. I have known her since we were in grammar school. Her Mother’s brother was married to my Mother’s sister. Sybil Russ Christian is our first cousin and lived next door to your Mom. Actually Sybil was the one who called me yesterday about your Mom’s death. When we would come from Mississippi to visit I would always look forward to spending time with with Baby Sister. I probably spent more time with Bay than with my family.
When we went to college (Mississippi college) Bay and I roomed together until she and Lynn married. I was with the group that went with your Mom and Lynn to Raymond when they married. I think the last time I saw her was in Layfayette at Liz Christian’s wedding. That was at least 25 years ago.
She was a very special person and there will always be a special place in my heart for her. I never heard her speak ill of anyone nor heard anyone speak ill of her.
I wish I could be at the service today. I know she was so proud of you all. I think it is wonderful that all her grands are taking part in her service. What an honor you are paying your sweet Mom.
