Shelby Holcombe Padgett age 75 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Padgett was born December 15, 1937 in Randolph, AL to Glen Holcombe and Jewel Smitherman Holcombe.
Services for Mrs. Padgett are Friday, July 5, 2013 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be Friday, July 5, 2013 from 2:00 until 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Dusty McLemore officiating.
She was a member at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church. She was also retired from Limestone County Schools were she taught sixth grade at Reid School.
She is survived by her sons, Patrick Padgett and wife Valerie, Chris Padgett and wife Trish and Shawn Padgett and wife Kandi; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, J.W. Holcombe and Billy Glen Holcombe and wife Jennie; sisters, Selvis Wallace and Betty Veazey and husband Larry; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Padgett; parents Glen and Jewel Holcombe.
Pallbearers are Greg Wallace, Tim Wallace, Whit Johnson, Matthew Veazey, Heath Veazey, Steve Blackburn, Dave Garrett and Brett Powers.
