Kennon Theron Denney, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, beloved brother, and dedicated community servant, will be remembered for his love of family, his willingness to serve others, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.
Kennon was preceded in death by his parents, Theron and Jannelle Denney, who welcomed him into this world and whose love and values remained with him throughout his life.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Kathy, who shared a lifetime of love, memories, and devotion by his side. He is also survived by his three sons, Timothy, Daniel, and Christopher, and his three daughters-in-law, Melinda, Stephanie, and Ashley. His legacy continues through his two beloved grandchildren, Maebyn and Theron Denney, who brought him tremendous joy and pride. He is also survived by his brothers, Ronald and Mark.
Kennon was a devoted volunteer firefighter who gave his time and heart to serving and protecting others. His commitment to his community reflected the kind of man he was: someone who cared deeply about others and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Outside of his service to the community, Kennon found happiness in the simple things in life. He enjoyed spending time fishing, playing golf, and, most importantly, being surrounded by his family. Whether on the water, on the golf course, or gathered with the people he loved, he cherished the moments that made life meaningful.
Above all else, Kennon was a family man. His love and devotion to his wife, children, and grandchildren were at the center of his life. He leaves behind a legacy built not on things, but on love, memories, service, and the lives he touched along the way.
Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on through the family he loved, the community he served, and the memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the Wakefield Volunteer Fire Department or Haney’s Chapel Baptist Church in Kennon’s memory. Donations may be sent to:
