Jamie Lynn Schuster of Gurley, AL passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026, after a 20+ year battle with breast cancer. She fought this battle with courage and always a positive attitude.
Jamie was born in Rochester, NY and grew up in East Syracuse, NY. She graduated in 1978 from East Syracuse Minoa High School. She attended college at Alfred State College and graduated with a Medical Assistant Degree. She went to work at Upstate Medical Center as a medical assistant in the Cardiovascular Lab. In 1981, she married Tom Schuster and they moved to Grand Island, NY. They travelled and moved numerous times over the years and finally settled in Huntsville, AL. During their early years, Jamie spent time working for Westwood Pharmaceuticals in Buffalo, NY and then later Astra Pharmaceutical in Westboro, MA. Once they moved to Huntsville, AL, she would spend the next 17+ plus years doing what she loved most, being a full-time mother, volunteering for numerous school organizations, attending dance competitions, recitals and theater shows, where she helped sew costumes on many high school shows and served on a number of PTA boards, Band Booster Vice officer and Theater booster club President for two years. She enjoyed running, playing golf and home projects. In 2004, she entered the real estate industry and worked and managed several real estate offices. In 2014, she started Quest Real Estate, a woman owned business with Tom as the broker. Together they grew the company into one with a high reputation of excellence and integrity within the industry.
Jamie is survived by her husband, Tom, Gurley, AL; son, Matthew (Hayley), Gurley, AL; and daughter, Lauren, Atlanta, GA; mother, Veronica Faucher, East Syracuse NY; brothers, Albert (Carol) Faucher of Myrtle Beach, and Scott Faucher, Syracuse, NY; sister, Tracy Lothridge of East Syracuse, NY; niece, Larissa Faucher and her children, Jaelyn and Kaedyn of Myrtle Beach; and nephews, Gregory Lothridge (Emily) and their daughter, Isla, Birmingham, AL and Stephen Lothridge, Birmingham, AL. She also recognizes her many In-laws, Jane (Joseph) Falcone, Silver Creek, NY, Phillip (Michael) Schuster, Atlanta, GA, Peter (Sandy) Schuster, Atlanta, GA, Sarah (Jeff) Morrison, Atlanta, GA and Clare (Mark) Hartigan, Atlanta, GA and nieces, Susan, Michelle, and Erin and nephews, John, Stephen, Mike, Chris and Kevin; and her beloved grandpups, Cooper and Tux. She is predeceased in death by her father, Albert Faucher, East Syracuse, NY.
Visitation will be held at Laughlin Service Funeral Home on Friday, November 6th from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. followed by a service in the chapel at 4:00 pm with Rob Seitz will officiating.
