Linda Lou Glenn Linda Lou Glenn, 84, of Arab, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026, one week shy of her 85th birthday. Born a twin on October 31, 1941, in Marshall County, she was the daughter of William Hugh Black and Ala Ray Carter Black. She graduated from Arab High School in 1960, earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama, and later received a master’s degree from Alabama A & M University. She began her teaching career at Union Grove Elementary School and concluded it at Grassy Elementary School. On May 29, 1960, she married the love of her life, Charles G. Glenn. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing on August 13, 2010.

She was raised in a close-knit family. Her father founded W. H. Black Furniture, located on Main Street. When the business was taken over by her brother Lehmon, he moved it over on the parkway. After retiring, she and her sister returned to the family business and worked alongside the family until it closed in 2012. She also worked for Melton Tax Services for more than 15 years. She was a member of the Arab First Baptist Church and the Arab Historical Society.

Linda was a woman of grace and class, and she and her twin sister, Glenda, always took pride in their appearance. Truly two peas in a pod, they spent as much time together as possible, eagerly planning their next adventure—whether dining out, shopping, or traveling. They are reunited once more, adorned in matching robes.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan LeSueur; granddaughter, Courtney LeSueur; brother, John Hugh Black; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Glenn, son-in-law, Jim LeSueur; parents, Hugh & Ala Black; twin sister, Glenda Sue Ponder (Wayne); brothers, Lehmon Black (Lillian) and Verbon Black (Delia).

Celebration of Life Service will be 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Gober Funeral Chapel with eulogy by John Hugh Black and Dewayne Hollaway.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Gober Funeral Chapel
