Janet Bearden, lovingly known as “Mama Janet,” of Albertville, Alabama, passed away at the age of 91, leaving behind family and friends who loved her dearly and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Janet was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was an active member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church, where her church family held a special place in her heart. Throughout her 91 years, Janet touched the lives of countless people through her kindness, compassion, faith, and love.
Janet was a woman who was confident in the Lord and never hesitated to share her faith. She loved studying Scripture and was always willing to give of herself to help and care for others. No matter what circumstances she faced, Janet trusted God to see her through. She lived out the words of Isaiah 41:10: “Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of righteousness and justice.”
Being around Janet brought a sense of peace and love. Her faith was evident in the way she lived. She was always smiling, sharing her joy, and making those around her feel loved and welcomed. Her absence will be deeply felt by her church family, her loved ones, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Even in our sorrow, there is comfort in knowing where Janet is now. As 2 Corinthians 5:8 says, “[Yes] we have confident and hopeful courage and are pleased rather to be away from home out of the body and be at home with the Lord.”
Janet is now with God. She is at peace, she is at home, and she is with the One she trusted and loved throughout her life.
Janet will be deeply missed; but her faith, her love, her smile, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
