LAUDERDALE COUNTY – Eleven years have passed since Connie Ridgeway was found
murdered inside her Rogersville apartment, but the search for answers continues. As the
anniversary of her death approaches on Friday, Oct. 23, the Alabama Law Enforcement
Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is renewing its call for the public’s
assistance in bringing justice to Ridgeway and closure to the loved ones she left behind.

On Oct. 23, 2015, Ridgeway, 59, was found murdered inside her apartment on Meadowland
Drive in Rogersville, located in Lauderdale County. More than a decade later, her homicide
remains unsolved, but ALEA investigators continue working the case and pursuing information
that could help identify those responsible.

“Eleven years is far too long for a family to live without answers. Connie Ridgeway was more
than the victim of a homicide. She was a mother, a loved one and a person whose life mattered
deeply to those who knew her,” said ALEA Secretary Hal Taylor. “While time has passed, our
commitment to seeking justice has not changed. We owe it to Connie, her family and her loved
ones to continue searching for the truth. Someone may hold the missing piece of information that
could help bring this case closer to a resolution, and we are asking that person to come forward.”

As part of ALEA’s renewed efforts to generate leads, the Agency has launched a dedicated
online tip page that allows individuals to submit information anonymously. ALEA Special
Agents encourage anyone with knowledge of Ridgeway’s murder, regardless of how minor or
insignificant that information may seem, to share what they know.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the resolution of the
investigation.

Anyone with information is encouraged to:
• Submit an anonymous tip online: Visit ALEA’s Unsolved Homicide: Connie Ridgeway
webpage and select the anonymous tip submission link.
• Call or text a tip: 334-865-0693 to provide information related to the case to SBI.

Special Agents stress that information shared today could be just as valuable as information
provided in the days immediately following Ridgeway’s death. A conversation overheard, a
detail remembered or information someone previously hesitated to share could provide the
breakthrough needed to advance the investigation.

Eleven years later, Connie Ridgeway has not been forgotten. Her case remains open, and ALEA
remains committed to finding answers.

Relationships change over time; it is not too late for you to provide information. If you or
someone you know has information related to this case, please submit a tip. Your information
could be the key to bringing justice to Connie Ridgeway and long-awaited answers to her family.
