Mrs. Virginia Sue Sullivan Lance, age 79, of McMinnville, TN passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the Webb House in Smithville, TN. She was born on March 16, 1947 in Sparta, TN to parents James Thomas Sullivan, Sr. and Opal Anna Louise Glenn Sullivan. She was a faithful member of Westside Baptist Church and was employed at Roses for many years. Virginia had a creative spirit about her and enjoyed cross stitching, sewing, and making ceramic pieces. She loved to travel and stay busy.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years Jackie D. Lance, son Eric D. Lance, grandchildren Andrew Glenn, Zachary Parrott, Ethan Lance, and Eian Thomas Lance, nieces Jamie (Eric) Kneip and Monica White, nephew Scott (Trina) White, and sister-in-law Linda Sullivan. Several nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, great nieces, and great nephews also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Tammy Denise Lance, brothers John L. Sullivan and James T. Sullivan, Jr., sisters Lucille Nichols and Loraine Sullivan, and grandson Dusty Parrott.
Funeral services for Virginia are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 22, 2026 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Tommy Lusk and Nathan Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. at McMinnville Funeral Home.
