Richard Allen “Ricky” McClanahan, age 81 of Russellville, passed away at home Friday, October 16, 2026. He was born December 23, 1944 to Carl E. and Adell McClanahan. Ricky was very independent. He was a diesel mechanic most of his life. Ricky was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed different types of hunting, including bow hunting. He was of the Baptist faith. Visitation will be Friday, October 23, 2026 from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Cherry Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Jason Thorn will officiate. Ricky is survived by his brother, Carl C. McClanahan; sister, Martha Rhea; nephew, Michael E. Rhea (Marie); nieces, Cherri Bendall (Bob) and Sandra Rhea Miller (Charles); a host of great nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl E. and Adell McClanahan; brothers, James “Jimmy” McClanahan (Dorothy) and Bobby Gene McClanahan; and nieces, Vicki L. Rhea and Ginnafer L. Rhea.
