Rene William Nikas, age 79, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at Countryside Health and Rehabilitation in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a native of Biddeford, ME, and retired from Alimak Elevator. He was very friendly, loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. Mr. Nikas served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Vassal and Gertrude Diane Valade Nikas.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra Young Nikas of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Sueanne Elam of Bell Buckle, TN; two grandsons, Dustin T. Drown of Bell Buckle, TN and Jason P. Drown of Murfreesboro, TN; one sister, Joanne Letrendre of Narrowsburg, NY; sister-in-law, Carline Deal of Mesa, AZ; brother-in-law, Tom Deal of Mesa, AZ; two nieces, Christine Alford of Kula, HI; and Isabel Szkiba of Laguna Hills, CA; and several cousins.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. No services will be held.
