Ruth Underwood died October 10, 2026, following an extended illness having been blessed to have enjoyed 64 years of marriage to her husband, Milton Underwood, Sr, prior to his death in 2021. Together Ruth and Milton focused on raising a family and cherishing special times with their sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was the heart of Nana Ruth’s existence. Ruth was happiest when cheering on three generations of ball players at Underwood DYL.
Ruth found joy in a new midlife career with Cypress Realty Group. Her honesty, integrity, and personal concern were appreciated by her clients and associates.
Ruth is preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Artie (Fitzgerald) Musgrove and sister, Geneva Hutchison.
She is survived by sons Milton Jr. (Lynn), Anthony (Mitzi) and Patrick; grandchildren, Andrea Linville, Allison Baggett, Tyler Underwood, Chelsea Ramirez, Cale Underwood and seven great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings, Juanita Fite and Johnny Musgrove, extended family and friends will surely miss their Ruth.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers and staffs of Summit Rehab, Preferred Hospice, Visiting Angels, NAMC OASIS Unit as well as private caregivers Charlotte Rose, Violet, and Lucretta for their compassionate care during Nana’s illness.
In accordance with family wishes, there will be no public visitation. A private service will be held for family by Eulogist, Jerry Dean, with Greenview directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the United Way of Northwest Alabama 205 W. College St. Florence, AL 35630 and/or a charity of personal choice.
