Jimmy Carl Ledbetter, age 78 of Murfreesboro, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. He was born in Winchester on October 17, 1947, to the late Willis Carl and Florence Louise (Bishop) Ledbetter. After graduating from Franklin County High School, Jimmy attended Draftsman School at Draughons Junior College. An avid student of history, he enjoyed researching and reading historical works and watching movies, as well as traveling to battlefields and historical places. He enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music as well as cheering on the Atlanta Braves. A dapper dresser, he always looked his best and tried to outdress his girls. His kind and generous personality will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. Jimmy is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-nine years, Treva Ledbetter; children, Jennifer (John) Ash and Julie (Johnny) Spies; grandchildren, John Edward Ash, Megan (Kevin) Dunn, Dylan (Amanda) Spies, Molly (Anthony) Rodriguez, and Emma Spies (fiancé, Devin Lewis); and great-grandchildren, Avery Dunn and Remmy Rodriguez. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30pm at Cowan Montgomery Cemetery.
