Jimmy Lee Hardin, known to family and friends simply as Jimmy, passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 62, following a brief illness.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Jimmy was a one-of-a-kind man who lived life on his own terms. Stubborn as a mule, rough around the edges, and never one to mince words, Jimmy had a raw sense of humor and an attitude to match. With piercing blue eyes that could catch your attention and a look that could speak volumes, he had a presence that was hard to forget. He could be a real pain, but that was part of what made him Jimmy. You never had to wonder where you stood with him, and he certainly wasn’t going to sugarcoat anything for anybody.
A skilled carpenter and true jack of all trades, Jimmy had a knack for working with his hands and figuring out how to fix just about anything. If something needed building, repairing, or taking apart, Jimmy was the kind of man who would give it a shot. His talents and practical skills were a testament to his resourcefulness and determination.
Jimmy enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: motorcycles, fishing, collecting antiques, and, of course, a good, cold beer. He appreciated a good time, a good laugh, and the freedom to do things his own way. A friend to many, Jimmy left his mark on the people he met through his colorful personality, unfiltered humor, and unmistakable character.
Jimmy is survived by his father, Parker Hardin (Susan); his sister, Mari McGuire (Harlan decaesed); his brothers, Johnny Hardin and Michael Hardin (Trina); and his four children, including his daughter, Kassy Sabaski (Jenny). He also leaves behind his grandson, Nikolus Sabaski, several other grandchildren, his niece Rebecca McGuire, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Elizabeth Hardin, and his brother, David Hardin.
No formal services will be held, and no burial arrangements are planned. Jimmy’s family will hold a private celebration of life to remember him in their own way and share memories of a man who was truly one of a kind.
Jimmy’s passing leaves behind family, friends, and countless memories that will continue to bring both smiles and tears. He will be remembered for his stubborn streak, his unfiltered humor, his many talents, and his ability to leave a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to have known him.
The world was a little rougher, a little louder, and a whole lot more interesting with Jimmy in it. He was unapologetically himself, and there will never be another quite like him.
Rest easy, Jimmy. May there be open roads, plenty of fish, treasures waiting to be discovered, and a cold beer waiting for you.
