Sharon Ann Brink, age 73, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL. She was a native of Des Moines, IA, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lawrenceburg, The Ladies Guild, and The Ladies Bible Study Group. She worked on various committees at the school’s Labor Day festival for 51 years. She has been a member of The Grand Ole Doll Club since her retirement, being their secretary for the last several years. She was an avid reader and also a member of the “Noon Last Thursday of the Month” book club at the library and “Friends of the Library”. She loved to travel.

Sharon attended Tennessee Tech University for her freshman year in pre-nursing and joined Kappa Delta Sorority. Her father Edward McMahon died that year. She transferred to Vanderbilt University for her sophomore year in nursing. The following April she met her future husband, Dan Brink and they attended many fraternity and sorority events together. She graduated from Vanderbilt in May 1975 and married Dan Brink on June 7, 1975. Then she went to work for Cookeville General Hospital. In March 1976, they moved to Lawrenceburg and lived in an apartment until the house they were having built was ready to move into in March 1977. She went to work for Crockett General Hospital. Their daughter Melissa arrived March 6, 1979, and their son Jason arrived May 21, 1982.

She was a very intelligent, respected, and caring nurse for 40 years. Since her retirement, people would come up to her in restaurants, super markets, and stores and say, “You may not remember me but I want to thank you for the wonderful care you gave me or my mother or father, etc… when they were in the hospital many years ago. Thank you!” She was very respected by doctors and staff she worked with.

Her first granddaughter Morgan Myrick arrived May 19, 2014, her second granddaughter, Aubrey Myrick arrived November 15, 2018, her third granddaughter, Laurel Brink arrived April 19, 2021, and her fourth granddaughter, Olive Brink arrived October 8, 2023 (deceased). The death of Olive broke her heart but now she is getting her chance to know and care for Olive.

She is survived by husband, Daniel Joseph Brink of Lawrenceburg, TN; two children, Melissa Ann Myrick (Ethan) of Christiana, TN and Jason Brink (Becca) of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren, Morgan Myrick, Aubrey Myrick, and Laurel Brink; one brother, Edward John McMahon II (Nadia Lahutsky) of Fort Worth, TX
