Nellie Anderson, 94, died Thursday, October 8, 2026 at a local nursing home. The grave side service will be Monday at 11:00 at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Bennett officiating. Berryhill Funeral Home and Crematory will be in charge.Mrs. Anderson was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband A.B. Anderson (Skeets), her son A.B. Anderson III (Sonny), her parents Leslie and Irene Fanning and brothers Jackie and Jerry Fanning.
Survivors include two daughters, Joan Martin (David) of Owens Cross Roads and Becky Martin (Buddy) of Gurley and sister Elsie Rutland (Fred) of Scottsboro and four grandchildren, Kim Neal (Bryan), Keri Messman (Will), Amanda Clark (Michael) Cody Martin (Cristin), five great grandchildren, Calvin Bush (Haley), Colton Messman (Chloe), Memphis Messman, Colby Martin and Ayden Clark and one great great grandson Easton Bush and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons, Calvin Bush, Cody Martin, Colby Martin and Colton Messman.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Staff of South Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice of North Alabama for the love and care they gave to our loved one.
