Mr. Hubert Joel PierceHubert Joel Pierce was born in Henderson County on June 20, 1932, and served his country honorably during the Korean War. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was centered around his family, his faith, and his community.
Joel was married to his beloved wife, Lillie Ann “Ann” Isom Pierce, for 67 years. Together, they built a life full of family, hard work, and memories. Joel and Ann owned and operated the H&R Block Tax Office in Lexington for many years.

At the time of his passing, he was the oldest member of the Scotts Hill chapter of The American Legion, having been a member for 71 years. He was also a member of the Scotts Hill Senior Citizens Center.
His faith was an important part of his life. He was a former member of Red Walnut Church of Christ and later became a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Milan, Tennessee, after relocating to Jackson.
Joel enjoyed the simple things in life—watching western movies, listening to western music, working on his farm, playing cards, and spending time with the people he loved. He was always willing to share his stories, his advice, and his time with his family. Those who knew him will remember not only the things he accomplished, but the person he was and the memories he left behind.
Joel is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Shelia Champion (Jim), Deneen Ferrell (Danny), and Cerenia Lindsey (Terry); eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
