Mollie “Marie” Lewis Limbaugh, age 92 of Winchester, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, October 2, 2026. Marie was born on January 21, 1934, in Winchester, to the late Newt Madison and Nannie Ann Elizabeth Branch Lewis. After losing both of her parents at a young age, she was raised by her sister, Elsie Lewis Holt. She has a very special bond with her niece, Mary Ruth Shumake of Tullahoma and nephew, William “Corky” Holt of Tullahoma, that were like her sister and brother. During her years of employment, she worked at Franklin Apparel and then in the food industry working at Mary’s Grill in Winchester, Kmart Café, and in the final years at Farrar Elementary. Whether she was serving you a hamburger, plate lunch or a cup of coffee, there was always a smile. When she retired, she spent her days making memories with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Family gatherings had to consist of her chocolate oatmeal cookies, and chocolate pies. She loved the mention of going somewhere and she always was ready with her pocketbook by her side. She enjoyed attending her church, Marble Plains, ever since she was a little girl. You would find her most Sundays in red with a big smile and that white hair just shining. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Elsie Lewis Holt, Berta Lewis Nipper; and brothers, Carl Lewis and Roy Lewis.
Marie is survived by her sons, Dwight (Dana) Limbaugh of Decherd, Jimmy (Pam) Limbaugh, and Johnny Limbaugh both of Winchester; daughter, Debra Limbaugh Stovall of Decherd; grandchildren, April (Kris) Witherspoon of Knoxville; Tracey (Shaun) Mason of Tullahoma; Christy (Jereme) Altenburg of Golden, Colorado, John (Jamie) Limbaugh of Tullahoma, Bradley (Jody) Limbaugh of Tullahoma, Tony Anderson of Land O Lake, Florida, Emily (David) Anderson of Brooksville, Florida. She was blessed with many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren that she loved dearly, especially her church pew buddy, Kashen Limbaugh. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 12:00pm – 2:00pm at Marble Plains Baptist Church with funeral service following at 2:00pm with Bro. Roger Parks officiating. Interment will follow in Marble Plains Church Cemetery with Hunner Allen, Kashen Limbaugh, Ryan Limbaugh, Bradley Limbaugh, John Limbaugh Jr, and Blake Witherspoon all serving as pallbearers.
