Tommy Gene Goodman, Sr., born March 17, 1949, in Aubrey, Arkansas, passed away on September 24, 2026, at Methodist Hospital East in Germantown, Tennessee, following his courageous battle with cancer.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Mae Coulter Goodman and John Paul Goodman; his sister, Elizabeth Ann Williams; his brother, Danny Lee Goodman, all of Arkansas; and his son, Tommy Gene Goodman, Jr., of Falkner, Mississippi.
He is survived by his three sons, Ethan Lane Goodman of Falkner, Mississippi; Henry Coulter Russell Goodman of Falkner, Mississippi; and Crayton Grey Russell of Corinth, Mississippi. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Taylor McClendon (Megan) of Marianna, Arkansas; Tanner McClendon of Marianna, Arkansas; Tommy J. Goodman of Forrest City, Arkansas; and Davy Goodman of Marianna, Arkansas.
Tommy was raised in Arkansas and spent the majority of his life there, building a livelihood through farming and the sale of farm equipment. An entrepreneur at heart, after making his home in Mississippi he also owned and operated Greenville Seafood in Greenville and the owner of The Family Outlet in Corinth.
An avid outdoorsman, Tommy had a lifelong love of hunting, fishing, and the natural world. After moving to Mississippi, he continued pursuing outdoor adventures through Camp Creek Hunting Club. More importantly, he shared that love with his sons, creating lasting memories of first hunts, whether for turkey, deer, or his particular favorite, duck hunting. Few things brought Tommy greater happiness than watching his boys catch a fish, experience the outdoors, or come home proud of a school achievement.
Tommy was also an avid gardener who found as much joy in sharing the fruits of his labor as he did in growing them. Friends and neighbors throughout the community often benefited from his generosity. These simple acts of giving reflected the generous spirit by which he will be remembered.
Tommy’s life was one of hard work, independence, adventure, and, above all, love for his family. The memories he created with his children, grandchildren, friends, and community will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
Services will be held Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 51 CR 247, Tiplersville, Mississippi.
