John Murrary Bailey was born on February 16, 1976, to Johnny Davis Bailey and Janet Vineyard Bailey. As many of you know, his health has declined over the past few years. He passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack while at home on September 30, 2026, at the age of 50. He is now whole and complete in the arms of his heavenly Father.

He is survived by his parents Johnny and Janet Bailey, his sister Jennifer Stokes (Jeff), his nieces, Evelynn and Gwyneth Stokes, many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Hassel and Sula Bailey and his maternal grandparents Murray and Megan Vineyard.

John accepted Christ into his heart at the age of 9. From an early age he was a champion for those who could not stand up for themselves. In fact, the only time he got in trouble in elementary school was due to him taking up for a girl that was being bullied. He had a big heart that shone through many ways over the years. He went on a mission trip with his church that gave him the opportunity to serve those that were truly in need; it opened his eyes and heart even more.

John graduated from Coffee High School in 1994. He then worked as an electrician for many years. He worked locally and also as a travel electrician, which took him all over the country. He loved Alabama football and being with his friends.

According to John’s wishes, he will be cremated then interred at a later date. His family will receive friends at Greenview Funeral Home in Florence on Sunday October 4, 2026. Visitation will begin at 2PM with a Celebration of Life honoring John to follow at 3PM in the funeral home chapel.

If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Organization, The Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
