Damian Lewis Dowling, age 59, of Dyersburg, passed away peacefully at his home on September 26, 2026.
Born on December 29, 1966, Damian was a devoted family man who loved his family well. He is survived by his daughters, Amber Enochs of Dyersburg, Kimberly Boggs (Richard) of Powell, WY, and Lana Carney (Tyrone) of Halls; his grandchildren, Jada Bates, Carson Enochs, Emmanuel Carney, Felicity Carney, Taylor Carney, and Kingston Carney; great grandchildren, Arianna Riley and Kason Riley; his mother Brenda Hunt of Newbern; sisters, Deborah Dowling (Jim McCallen) of Dyersburg and Melisa Bane (Lanny) of Newbern; along with extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Damian was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita Faye Dowling, whose memory he cherished. His unwavering devotion was evident in the compassionate care he provided throughout her illness and in her final days. He was also preceded in death by his precious granddaughter, Izabella Grace Bates.
He will be fondly remembered for his signature knee socks and shorts along with his loud music, his unique laugh, his love of the Tennessee Vols, and his willingness to fix anything and everything, always at his own pace.
Though our hearts are sorrowful, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind, the funny stories we get to share and in the love he showed his family. His legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
